Bespoke Darwin on Darwin

Ideal for travellers who want to... understand how Charles Darwin's visit influenced the development of his theory of natural selection.

Overview

It’s a little known fact that the revered naturalist and father of the Theory of Evolution, Charles Darwin, visited Sydney and the Blue Mountains in 1836, when HMS Beagle was making its way around the world and into the history books. It’s even less widely known that Charles’ great, great, grandson, Chris Darwin, is today a resident and passionate guide in the Blue Mountains – and just the person to take us on a trip exploring the unique flora and fauna of Australia that so influenced his forebear.

This is a very special opportunity to join the vivacious and fascinating Chris Darwin, as we walk in the footsteps of Charles to see Australia’s unique ecology through his eyes. You’ll be met by your private Bespoke Tours guide at your hotel to travel up into the mountains, where we’ll meet Chris. Walk the trail to Wentworth Falls with Chris, exploring as we go.

Enjoy a wonderful 2-course gourmet lunch with Chris in Leura and an afternoon on further discovery in the Blue Mountains, before your early evening return to Sydney for an evening at your leisure.
